Job Summary:

The Department of Emergency Medicine at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full-time Residency Coordinator. The successful candidate will: 

  • Help in assisting with all the required ACGME/RRC/GME/hospital maintenance paperwork and data entry.
  • Monitor block academic schedule, duty hours, evaluations (residents/faculty/program), procedure log, and scholarly profile of each resident.
  • Be responsible for bi-annual reporting of the milestones to the ACGME.
  • Complete the required Annual Program Evaluation for submission to the GMCE
  • Assist in the organization of the Interview season (4.5 months, 2 days per week, interviewing approx. 260 candidates per year).
  • Assist in 1-month intern orientation (approximately 20-25 candidates).
  • Assist in proctoring in-training service examination.
  • Assist in the organization of graduation celebrations for all residents and fellows.
  • Assist in the organization of our wellness program (including off-site programming).
  • Assist in the credentialing and reappointment of all residents at each of the training sites.
  • Assist in the verification of graduates for employment credentialing/reappointment.

Required Qualifications:

  • ACGME/GME knowledge needed.
  • Must be computer literate and competent in Microsoft Office.
  • Must possess strong interpersonal skills to interact with employees of all levels, including conflict management skills.
  • Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be highly motivated and self-directed.
  • Must have excellent problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree

Work Schedule:

Monday to Friday; 8am to 4pm

Salary Grade/Rank:

SL-2

Salary Range:

Commensurate with experience and qualifications
