Job Summary:

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a Director of the Gynecologic Oncology Division. The successful candidate will: 

  • In collaboration with the Chair of the Department, develop a comprehensive strategy and plan for the growth as well as the development of the division's clinical, educational, and research activities as well as its Gynecologic Oncology Fellowship Program. 
  • In collaboration with the Chair, manage the administrative, finance, research, and clinical operations for the Division.
  • In collaboration with the Chair, develop a strategy to grow and expand a funded research program including translational, clinical, and health services research. Accountable for the recruitment, retention, and development of the Gynecologic Oncology faculty who excel in clinical, education, and research missions.
  • In collaboration with the departmental and other relevant departments (including Radiation Oncology, Hematology, and Medical Oncology, Pathology and Radiology) strengthen and expand all elements of gynecologic care and research which will enable the institution to continue to be a leading institution for gynecologic cancer. 
  • Provide comprehensive Gynecologic Oncology care. 
  • Participate in the direct supervision and training of the fellows, residents, and medical students.

Required Qualifications:

  • Board Certified in both Obstetrics and Gynecology and Gynecologic Oncology.
  • License to practice Medicine in New York State. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Leadership experience with a minimum of seven years of academic medical center experience is preferred.
