Job Summary:

The Physician Assistant Program in the School of Health Professions at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a part-time Assistant Professor (12 MO). The successful candidate will:

  • Conduct classroom instruction.
  • Conduct clinical site supervision.
  • Perform student monitoring
  • Provide advisement and assessment.
  • Coordinate student community service, mentorship, and research projects.
  • Participate in student recruitment and selection.
  • Participate in the evaluation of the program.
  • Service on multiple committees.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree.
  • New York State Physician Assistant licensure or New York State licensure and appropriate degree for other professions (MD, RN, PhD, EdD, etc.)
  • 2+ years of clinical experience as a Physician Assistant.
  • Teaching and extensive administrative experience.
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills.
  • Computer competency.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Current NCCPA certification.

Days Variable; Hours Variable

Salary Range:

Commensurate with experience and qualifications
