Job Summary:

The Department of Physiology and Pharmacology in the College of Medicine at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full-time Assistant Professor (HS) Tenure Track. The successful candidate will:

  • Reestablish longstanding excellence in neuroscience research within the institution. 
  • Build and lead a collaborative, interdisciplinary research team focused on neural dynamics and mechanisms underlying decision making and behavior.
  • Build synergies with current neuroscience researchers in Physiology & Pharmacology, Ophthalmology, Neurology, Psychiatry, and other departments.
  • Teach and train medical and graduate students in the School of Graduate Studies Neural and Behavioral Science program.

Required Qualifications:

  • PhD in Neuroscience, Physics, and/or related discipline.
  • Postdoctoral training in relevant area.
  • Established research and publication track record in Neuroscience relevant to neural dynamics and mechanisms underlying decision making and behavior.
