Job Summary:

The Physical Therapy Program in the School of Health Professions at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking an Adjunct Instructor. The successful candidate will:

  • Provide instruction in the following classes:
    • PTDP 6208 Neuromuscular Physical Therapy
    • PTDP 6105 Motor Control and Motor Learning I
  • Provide weekly classroom lectures and labs.
  • Provide handouts and PowerPoints on Brightspace LMS.
  • Write, administer, and grade midterm and final written and practical exams.
  • Grade papers and provide advisement to students as needed.

Required Qualifications:

  • New York State Licensed Physical Therapist.
  • 5+ years of clinical experience as a Physical Therapist.
  • Strong neurological physical therapy clinical background (stroke, SCI, TBI).
  • Strong organizational, written, collaborative, and interpersonal skills. 
  • NCS or NCS eligible.
