Job Summary:

The Department of Transplant Surgery at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full-time Administrative Assistant / TH Staff Assistant 2. The successful candidate will:

  • Maintain patient folders for pre-clinic visits.
  • Schedule pre-transplant patient appointments.
  • Contract patients and dialysis units for updated information.
  • Prepare correspondence generated by clinical staff.
  • Triage telephone calls for the Division and transcribe messages accurately.
  • Prepare and maintain pre-transplant charts.
  • Attend meetings and take minutes.
  • Assist with any reports and/or projects as deemed necessary by the Department Chair.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of an Associate's Degree.
  • 3 to 5 years of administrative experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Strong computer fluency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access). 
  • Knowledge of Eagle and Healthbridge.
  • Strong verbal, written, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and decision-making skills.

Work Schedule:

Monday to Friday; 9:00am to 5:00pm

Salary Grade/Rank:

SL-1

Salary Range:

Commensurate with experience and qualifications
