Job Summary:

The Department of Clinical Laboratories, Surgical Pathology & Autopsy at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full-time Supervisor/TH Clinical Associate Technical Director of Clinical Laboratories. The successful candidate will:
- Supervise the Surgical Pathology & Autopsy Laboratory.
- Assure adequate staffing at all times.
- Be responsible for administrative reports; ensure that they are appropriate, accurate and timely.
- Be responsible for supplies and equipment; ensure supplies and equipment purchases are appropriate, adequate and timely, and that preventative equipment maintenance is performed and appropriate records kept.
- Maintain adequate supply of material/reagents to ensure proper workflow.
- Maintain quality control, record and check performance manual for all tests completed in the lab area.
- Maintain proper documentation for compliance with all regulatory agency requirements.
- Maintain compliance with institutional and departmental policies.
- Assist in the daily operations of the Anatomic Pathology Division, to ensure quality work and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Demonstrate flexibility as duties and responsibilities are not limited to the above description.
