Job Summary:

The Department of Information Services at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full-time Lead Programmer Analyst. The successful candidate will:

  • Focus on EAGLE systems installation and reporting, and provide assistance with other applications as needed.
  • Generate Ad Hoc reports using the EAGLE RG Report Writer Software.
  • Perform coding of screen edits using EAGLE Acc-IMAGE.
  • Conduct analysis of features/functions of LWP's (Latest Working Programs).
  • Write programming code to meet user needs and specifications.
  • Debug routine problems in application programs.
  • Prepare test data and implement tested changes.
  • Document all programming code and report production procedures.
  • Assist/advise individual users in identifying and solving technical problems.
  • Be responsible for financial interfaces.
  • Travel to offsite locations when necessary to troubleshoot.
  • Train and provide technical support to end-users.
  • Perform general system problem-solving.

Required Qualifications:

  • 1 to 3 years of clinical operations experience.
  • 1+ year of programming experience with EAGLE 2000 software product.
  • Demonstrated experience with Easytrieve Programming and EAGLE Accu-Link Processing.
  • Good analytical and technical skills to examine, evaluate and analyze system problems and user processes and procedures, and develop solutions. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to develop good working relationships with peers, managers, and system users. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Medical Informatics or other related discipline preferred. 

Work Schedule:

Monday to Friday; 9:00am to 5:00pm
