Job Summary:
|
The Department of Pharmacy at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full time Pharmacist (Evenings). The successful candidate will:
- Dispense, compound, administer drugs and other pharmaceuticals
- Provide medication counseling and reconciliation
- Review medication orders for safety and efficacy and then approve orders within our CPOE system to main medication profiles
- Review and approve Pyxis profile orders
- Administer oncology, TPN, and investigational drug solutions as needed
- Dispense controlled substances as needed and maintain files
- Participate in drug utilization review studies, QA, and PI programs
- Actively participates in new technologies and operational programs
- Maintain the records of Pharmacy
- Supervise technicians and support staff
- Report to Senior pharmacists, the Associate Director of Pharmacy, and the Director of Pharmacy
- Provide in-service education to healthcare professionals on demand
- Potentially rotate with medical teams and/or participate in specific medication management programs
- Holiday coverage rotation and On-Call/Recall rotation required
