Job Summary:

The Department of Facilities and Management Development at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full-time Assistant Facilities Program Coordinator. The successful candidate will:

  • Assign tasks, follow-up on assignments. Supervise two (2) shops of CSEA skilled tradesmen.

  • Supervise maintenance contracts and repairs whenever an emergency condition arises.

  • Coordinate all work activities through 'the Computer Maintenance Management Program.

  • Maintain written logs required by Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations, NYSDOH and other regulatory agencies.

  • Order in a timely manner and maintaining equipment in anticipation of mechanical failures an order to minimize down time.

  • Attend meetings pertaining to operations of maintenance of the plant and personnel management.

  • Remain aware of changes affecting the operations of the power plant personnel management.

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of related supervisory experience. 
  • 5+ years of practical work experience in facilities. management/project management.
  • Knowledge of facilities operations, electricity, maintenance operations, and preventive maintenance. 
  • Strong mechanical background. 
  • 2-years of college education in a related field or 5-years of related work experience in a related field.
  • An equivalent combination of education, experience and training.

Commensurate with experience and qualifications
