Job Summary:
|
The Department of Renal Medicine at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full-time Staff Assistant / Administrative Assistant. The successful candidate will:
- Effectively function as assistant to the Renal Administrator and Program Director and assist in the day-to-day operations of the Renal Division. The incumbent will be expected to interact professionally with faculty, house staff, students, division administrators and will perform in an organized, independent manner.
- Assist in long-term planning for ongoing divisional growth and progress.
- Assist in the preparation of JCAHO, CLER, ACGME regulatory inspections, Quality Assurance.
- Assist in faculty meeting minutes and attendance.
- Assist in preparing and obtaining documents for audits, surveys, continuing medical education credits, and evaluations, including files, creating and maintaining spreadsheets; must have knowledge of computer programs.
- Maintain purchase requisition log to order supplies and other requisition requests from academic, research, and clinical areas of the division.
- Interact with the administrative hospital staff, grants and contracts, the IRB offices of the Research Foundation, the Medical School, Downstate Physician Health, Human Resources, the GME office, the CME Office, and outside agencies to coordinate the administrative duties, activities, and events from these areas.
- Assist with interviews, evaluations, surveys, lectures, and updating website.
- Assist in answering the division's phone lines, schedule appointments, manage calendar, distribution of correspondence and mail.
- Proctor for the School of Medicine and Medicine Clerkship exams.
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as requested by Divisional and Department Administrator.

Required Qualifications:
|
- Prior work experience in an academic institution of clinical operations.
|
Preferred Qualifications:
|
- Associate's Degree with comparable work experience.
|
Work Schedule:

Monday to Friday; 9:00am to 5:00pm (Full-Time)
