Job Summary:

The Department of Pharmacy at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full-time TH Senior Pharmacist / Pediatric Clinical Pharmacist. The successful candidate will:

  • Dispense, compound, admix drugs, and other pharmaceuticals.
  • Provide medication counseling and reconciliation.
  • Review medication orders for safety and efficacy and then approves order within our CPOE system to maintain med profiles.
  • Review and approve Pyxis profile orders.
  • Admix oncology, TPN and investigational drug solution as needed.
  • Dispense controlled substances as needed and maintain files.
  • Participate in drug utilization review studies, QA and PI programs.
  • Actively participate in new technologies and operational programs.
  • Maintain the records of Pharmacy.
  • Supervise technicians and support staff.
  • Report to the Director and Associate Director of Pharmacy.
  • Provide in-service education to healthcare professionals on demand.
  • Rotate with medical teams and/or participate is specific medication management programs.
  • Perform holiday coverage rotation and on-call/recall rotation as needed/required.

Required Qualifications:

  • PharmD from an accredited college of Pharmacy.
  • New York State Pharmacist Licensure.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior hospital pharmacist experience.
  • PGY-1 completed residency.

Work Schedule:

Variable Days; 8:00am to 4:30pm (Full-Time)

Salary Grade/Rank:

SL-4

Salary Range:

Commensurate with experience and qualifications
