Job Summary:

The Department of Nursing Administration at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full-time TH Associate Administrator, Ambulatory Dialysis. The successful candidate will: 

  • Demonstrate accountability for the overall management, including clinical and financial responsibilities, of Renal Services to ensure safe therapeutic management of the End Stage Renal Disease patient (ESRD).
  • Incorporate customer demand, allocation of resources, provision of care according ESRD regulations and community needs into the overall planning and management of the Renal Services.
  • Ensure all procedures demonstrate high standards of care delivery, and equipment and supplies are maintained according to Title 18 ESRD regulations of Part 405 of the Code of Federal Regulations.
  • Collaborate with the Renal Services Department Head and Chairman to establish and maintain the goals of Renal Services. Integrate nursing activities with other functional areas to achieve organizational and product line goals.
  • Be responsible for developing and managing human and material resources within Renal Services (includes personnel and OTPS (other than Personnel Services).
  • Oversee the development and revision of policies and procedures with the Medical Director to assure consistent, efficient and safe operation of inpatient and outpatient facilities.
  • Collaborate with the Medical Director to maintain a performance improvement program which meets all Title 18 ESRD regulations and Part 405, Title 42 of Code of Federal Regulations and Crown Web data submission and to implement corrective actions identified as a result of internal or external reviews.
  • Coach, empower, and hold accountable nurse mangers in their implementation and evaluation of professional practice and patient care.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and perform other job-related duties and responsibilities as business needs warrant and/or as needed.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master of Science Degree in Nursing. 
  • New York State Registered Nurse License.
  • 5+ years of progressive work experience in managing a renal dialysis center.
  • Familiarity with current modest of care that meets both CMS and NYSDOH regulations.
  • Current BLS/ACLS.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in budgeting, management of professional and non-professional groups and information technology and reimbursement systems preferred.

Work Schedule:

Monday to Friday; 8:30am to 4:30pm (Full-Time)

Commensurate with experience and qualifications
